EMPLOYMENT OF SUMMER YOUTH

During the summer months, students are often employed as temporary hires.  Past experience, makes it necessary to establish the following guidelines in the hiring procedures of summer youth.

No one under the age of eighteen (18) years old will be hired unless he or she has been enrolled and is actively participating in a state approved apprenticeship program.

The hiring of all youth’s eighteen (18) years old  and their specific work assignments must be approved in advance by an officer of the Company involved.

The intent of these guidelines is to prevent accidents to young, temporarily hired employees who frequently lack experience with the hazards in the construction, mining and manufacturing industries.
