COMPANY RESPONSIBILITY
Each employee in the company must be made aware of his company’s
Safety Policy and attitude towards the control on injury,
damage, and fire, and of the part he, as an individual, must
play to achieve this end. The duties and responsibilities of
employees, supervisors, and management in writing Company’s
Management.
COMPANY PRESIDENT
The President sets the policies, standards, and attitudes for
accident prevention and safety in the company. To provide
special attention to accident prevention and safety performance,
he should designate someone to serve as Safety Engineer. The
Safety Engineer responsibility will be full-time assignment.
By using his Safety Engineer, FWMC's Safety Department, and
periodic published reports, the President should monitor the
effectiveness of accident prevention and safety program.
SAFETY ENGINEER
The Safety Engineer is the primary focal point for the
administration of FWMC’s Safety Program. His duties include the
following:
(1)
Preventing injury to personnel, damage to plant and equipment.
(2) Recommend or devise ways to improve existing safety
methods.
(3) Legal and contractual requirements affecting safety,
health, and welfare.
(4) Provision and use of protective clothing and
equipment.
(5) Suitability, from a safety viewpoint, of new or
rented equipment.
(6) Recognize or determine potential hazards on new contracts
before work starts, the impact it may have on the safety
organization and fire precautions required.
(7)
Changes in safety requirements.
(8)
Carry out site surveys to see that only safest work methods are
in operation, that health and safety requirements are being
observed, and that welfare and first aid facilities are adequate
and properly maintained.
(9) Determine the cause of any
accident or dangerous occurrence and recommend means of
preventing recurrence.
(10) Supervise the recording and
analysis of information on injuries, damage, and
production loss. Assess accident trends and review overall
safety performance.
(11)
Assist with training employees at all levels.
(12) Take part in discussions on injury damage and safety.
(13)
Keep up-to-date with recommend codes of practice and safety
literature. Circulate information applicable to appropriate
employees.
(14) Foster within the company an understanding that injury
prevention and damage control are an integral part of business
and operational employees.
WORK SITE SUPERVISION
(1) Inspect the work site daily and report and correct
unsafe acts and conditions.
(2) Keep a permanent record of all injuries and damage
at the site.
(3) Keep a record of weekly safety meetings on site with subject
and attendance.
(4) Set a personal example.
(5)
Incorporate safety instructions in routine orders and see that
they are obeyed.
(6)
Conduct weekly safety meetings with employees.
(7)
Correct unsafe acts, such as horseplay or the taking of
necessary risks.
(8) Ensure new employees are properly instructed in precautions to
be taken before they are allowed to start work, including
company rules of safe work practice.
(9) Report unsafe conditions and defects in equipment.
INDUSTRIAL PHYSICIAN
The industrial physician will assist the Safety Engineer in the
legal and contractual requirements affecting health and fully
comply with the Department of Health. His duties include the
following:
(1) Maintenance of a healthful environment
(2) Making diagnosis and giving treatments
for minor illness
(3) Giving health examination
(4) Keeping medical records
(5) Providing health education and counseling
(6) Applying immunization procedures like the
anti-tetanus immunization
program
(7) Make medical and clinical investigations
of occupational diseases.
(8) Assist the Safety Engineer in the planning, provision
and maintenance of
sanitary facilities and potable drinking water
(9) In charge in the operation of the First Aid Station.
Make recommendation
for the provision of first aid facilities, equipments, materials
and supplies
(10) In charge in recommending and making sure that the
First Aid Station is
well stock with medical supplies
EMPLOYEE
(1) Use the correct tools and
equipment for the job.
Use the protective clothing and equipment provided.
(2) Do nothing to endanger self
or work mates.
(3) Keep tools in good
condition.
(4) Refrain from horseplay and
the abuse of safety devices and
equipment. |
